Selena Gomez, an American singer and actress, recently discussed her preparation process for her role in the upcoming Spanish musical, ‘Emilia Pérez’.
The talented pop star took a temporary break from music and other commitments to fully immerse herself in the role.
She shared insights during a Q&A session with the cast of ‘Emilia Pérez’ at the Telluride Film Festival on September 1, 2024.
“I stopped working on my music and anything else, and solely focused on this [musical]. Every day, I’d wake up and rehearse the lines over and over again. And I’d call in the middle of the night, my Spanish teacher,” she said.
In the film,Selena Gomez portrays the character Jessi Del Monte, and she described her experience of singing in the movie as “therapeutic.”
Netflix unveiled the first trailer for the Spanish-language French film on August 26. With a cast that includes Zoe Saldaña, the movie is said to be “an audacious fever dream that defies genres and expectations.”
