Nasser Al-Hadiri, the head coach of the Libyan national team, expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s preparation for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Nigeria.
Due to injuries and suspensions, several key players will be unavailable for the games. Reports suggest that some top players have chosen to boycott the matches.
Al-Hadiri conceded that the absence of these stars has hindered his ability to devise a comprehensive tactical strategy for the qualifiers.
“We have not yet reached the required level of readiness to face a strong team like Nigeria,” he told a press conference.
“The team were not in good shape before I took over.
“The absence of several players in our first training sessions has made it difficult to establish a comprehensive tactical plan for the game.”
Libya will face the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday before hosting them in Benina four days later.
