Why I’m still without a job – Ex-Super Eagles coach, Peseiro

Jose Peseiro, the former head coach of the Super Eagles, recently offered an explanation for his prolonged period of inactivity since leaving the role earlier this year.

Despite departing in February after his contract ended, Peseiro led the team to a second-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

The Portuguese coach revealed that he has yet to embark on a new project and is patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity to arise.

“I honestly don’t see myself coaching another team in Portugal, even though there are projects that I’m excited about,” Peseiro told Portuguese news outlet Ojogo.

“So far, it hasn’t happened. I’ve had offers to return to Portugal, once again, but I haven’t. It’s not because I don’t like the country or our football.”
