The retired Real Madrid playmaker, Toni Kroos, humorously suggested that manager Carlo Ancelotti might snatch him if he decided to come back to the club for a friendly match.
Kroos hung up his boots at the conclusion of last season, leaving a void in Los Blancos’ midfield that Ancelotti has been trying to fill.
In an interview with Diario AS, Kroos said: “I don’t know if they think it’s cool if I pop up once in a while and say I want to join.
“Currently, there is also a risk that Carlo will tell me: ‘Now stay here.’”
He also insisted that he is not even contemplating joining Ancelotti’s backroom staff.
He added: “Right now I don’t feel like training adults. I am going to open a youth academy in Madrid, so they will have to believe in it if I play along.”
