France Football, the organization behind the Ballon d’Or award, has issued a statement refuting claims that any player or club is aware of the winner for this year.
There has been widespread speculation on social media suggesting Rodri (Manchester City) may beat out Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) for the award. However, Vinicius was initially considered the frontrunner.
Due to these developments, it is now believed that no representatives from Real Madrid will be present at Monday night’s event.
However, in a statement, the organizers insisted: “No player and no club knows the winner of this year’s Ballon d’Or yet.”
The ceremony to crown this year’s winner will begin at 8pm.
