Beyonce’s trailblazing Country album, ‘Cowboy Carter’, soared to the top of the charts upon its release in March and is primarily acknowledged with ushering in a Black Country music resurgence in the modern day.
Now, the album aims to triumph at the GRAMMY Awards, specifically in the Country category.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Cowboy Carter’ has been formally filed for consideration in the Best Country Album category.
The entry stands out on several fronts.
It comes seven years after the Academy’s Country committee chose not to shortlist the Country-anchored ‘Daddy Lessons’ from Queen Bey’s critically acclaimed 2016 album Lemonade.
News of the categorization comes a few weeks after Beyonce was snubbed at the CMA Awards, where she received zero nominations for ‘Cowboy Carter’ and its historic chart-topping lead single ‘Texas Hold ‘Em.’
At last week’s People’s Choice Country Awards, the project was not chosen in any of the 17 categories it was nominated for.
Should Beyonce nab Country nominations at the GRAMMYs 2025, she will add to an already impressive run at Music’s Biggest Night.
Serving as the ceremony’s most-awarded artist of all time, the 43-year-old is honored to be nominated across multiple genres. Indeed, at the 2017 show alone, the megastar made history with ‘Lemonade’ as the first artist to garner nods in the same year in the Rock, Rap, R&B, and Pop fields.
Voting to determine the nominees for the Grammys 2025 is ongoing and concludes on October 15.
Thereafter, nominations will be officially announced on November 8, 2024, and final voting will take place from December 12, 2024, to January 3, 2025.
The live GRAMMYs 2025 ceremony will air on February 2, 2025, from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
