The Football Association has imposed a monetary penalty of £75,000 upon Chelsea for accumulating six yellow cards during their 2-1 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday, as reported by sports journalist Kieran Gill.
CREEBHILLS indicates that this incident marks the third occasion this season that the west London club has recorded six yellow cards within a singular match.
The Blues established an early advantage against Newcastle United in the 18th minute, courtesy of a goal from Nicolas Jackson.
Nevertheless, Newcastle United equalized in the 32nd minute through a strike from Alexander Isak.
However, Chelsea’s recurrent disciplinary transgressions have now resulted in financial penalties for the third time this season.
Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia, Pedro Neto, and Noni Madueke were all issued yellow cards during the contest.
It is noteworthy that the Blues encountered comparable disciplinary challenges in their 1-0 victory over Bournemouth, where they accrued eight cautions and were subsequently fined £25,000.
Earlier this month, the London giants accumulated six yellow cards in their 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, resulting in a £50,000 fine from the FA.
In light of this most recent episode, Chelsea has now incurred a cumulative penalty of £150,000 for disciplinary infractions this season.
They have become the inaugural team in the Premier League to receive six yellow cards or more in three separate matches within a single campaign.
