Nollywood actress Folorunsho Adeola, also known as Arike Gold, has spoken out about the importance of social media in her business ventures.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Adeola stressed the benefits of these platforms, particularly in increasing her reach to a global audience.

She said, “I love social media. I want it to remain the way it is because I make money from it through my business. Most of my customers are in the Diaspora.”

The actress, known for her fashion sense, revealed that her hair is the most valued thing in her wardrobe, noting, “It is very expensive,”

When discussing her Nollywood jobs, Adeola stated that her appearance frequently varies based on the script’s requirements.

In her views on industry norms, she addressed a prevalent worry of actor underpayment, which can be attributed to personal relationships.

She commented, “It was like that even before we got into the industry. When we got in, we had to do free jobs. Now, things have changed. We are in the age of social media. One can even be a celebrity on Instagram before being a celebrity on TV. Then we were doing it for our friends; now it has to come with money.”

Adeola’s initial film role was in Alapa Stainless, produced by Mr. Latin in 2008, but her notable successes came with the films Ayonitemi and Olowolayemo.
