US rapper GloRilla’s debut album, GLORIOUS, has sparked debate among Nigerian Christians.
The album has 15 tracks and collaborations with musicians such as Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, T-Pain, and Kirk Franklin, who combine hip-hop with gospel music.
Track 8, “Rain Down on Me,” featuring well-known gospel performers Kirk Franklin, Maverick City Music, Kierra Sheard, and Chandler Moore, has received the most attention.
Some Nigerian Christians, notably Jaymike, the son of evangelist Mike Bamiloye, have raised concern over the gospel performers’ inclusion on the CD.
