Piers Morgan has issued an apology to Beyoncé and Jay-Z for inaccurate claims made recently.
The former Good Morning Britain host responded to accusations made by singer Jaguar Wright during his show.
While discussing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ recent arrest on Morgan’s YouTube series Uncensored, Wright said, “For four years I’ve been screaming not just Diddy, but Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters.”
The singer, who previously worked as a backing singer for Jay-Z, went on to claim that he is “worse than Diddy” and called the music mogul and Beyoncé a “nasty little couple”.
This comes in the wake of Jay-Z’s legal troubles and subsequent arrest in New York. Following communication from the couple’s legal team, Piers Morgan has now released a new statement addressing Wright’s claims.
“Jaguar Wright made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during their interview. As I said in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves,” the British journalist began.
“Now they have. Their lawyers contacted us to say those claims were totally false, and have no basis in fact.”
Piers Morgan went on to explain that Wright’s claims about the Hollywood couple had now been edited out of the interview.
“Editing interviews is not something we do lightly on a show called Uncensored,” he continued. “But like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theatre, there are legal limits on us too. We apologise to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”
