Taylor Swift has generously donated a substantial amount of money to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.
Feeding America, a non-profit organization, confirmed Swift’s donation in a statement posted on their social media accounts, with CEO Babineaux-Fontenot expressing gratitude for her support.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million (£3.8 million) donation to Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts,” the post read.
“This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms. Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need.”
This is not the first time Taylor Swift has contributed to disaster relief efforts.
In the past, she donated $1 million (£770,000) to assist with natural disasters in Tennessee in December 2023 and provided $100,000 (£77,000) to the family of a woman who tragically lost her life at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade in February.
As of 5 October, AP News reported that Hurricane Helene had claimed the lives of 227 people, with many others still missing. Hurricane Milton is predicted to be the most costly disaster in Florida’s history.
