Sophie Turner has opened up about her decision to leave the United States after her divorce from her ex-husband, Joe Jonas.
In an interview with ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ for their December/January issue, the ‘Game of Thrones actor revealed rare details about her difficult year, which began with the finalization of her divorce from Jonas in September.
Turner, 28, said that homesickness and a longing for her native UK, as well as anxieties about gun violence and the repeal of Roe v. Wade, were the driving forces behind her relocation.
She mentioned how she frequently visited British stores in American locations to stock up on staples such as chocolate.
The actress, who is also set to receive the Performance Award at Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards 2024, said returning to the UK has brought her peace.
Now dating aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, Turner shared, “It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England.”
Reflecting on her time away, she expressed missing out on milestone moments with friends and family, adding, “I just never really feel like myself when I’m not in London.”
