Amidst the prevailing economic challenges in Nigeria, activist-turned-politician Aisha Yesufu has characterized President Bola Tinubu as a detrimental figure.
Aisha Yesufu’s comments were in response to the observations made by Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume, who asserted that the individuals within Tinubu’s inner circle are responsible for the economic difficulties faced by Nigeria.
Ndume articulated that certain persons are accountable for the “detrimental policies” implemented during the Tinubu administration, rather than concentrating efforts on mitigating inflation and achieving stability in the exchange rate.
Ndume further indicated that these individuals are actively working to subvert Tinubu’s administration, whilst voicing apprehensions regarding the escalating costs of fuel, food, and other essential commodities.
He said: “Those who are bent on making the President look bad will stop at nothing in inflicting pain on Nigerians through the so-called reforms until things get out of hand, and the blame will be on President Tinubu.
“I believe President Tinubu means well for Nigeria and Nigerians. I know this because I know what he stands for. But some of his advisers who don’t mean well to the people of this country give him wrong advice.”
Reacting in a post on X, Aisha Yesufu wrote: “Tinubu is the bad person. Call a spade a spade and not a garden implement.”
