Honorable Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, a House of Representatives member, has drawn tremendous attention and controversy following a viral video in which he beat an Uber driver during a delivery at his Maitama, Abuja, apartment.
According to the driver, tensions rose when he demanded that the Honourable representing the Aba North and South Federal Constituencies come outside to take his delivery personally.
The video shows the obviously enraged congressman loudly berating and abusing the driver, who is reportedly offended at being asked to step outside of his comfort zone to get his items.
Hon. Ikwechegh slapped the driver several times as the confrontation heated up, claiming the request was rude considering his social rank. At one point in the recording, Ikwechegh is said to have threatened the driver, suggesting he could make him “disappear” without repercussions.
A second segment of the film, currently circulating online, shows the driver sitting in his car without a shirt, saying that Alex Ikwechegh tore his garments.
The video prompted significant indignation on social media, demanding accountability and justice.
This is pure oppression and wickedness. 😦 so a Bolt driver went to deliver something to A Politician and this happen just because the driver asked the man to come to the car to pick up his stuff!
