Young Thug’s guilty plea and sentencing in his years-long YSL RICO trial have sparked many comments on social media.
On Thursday, October 31, Hug’s legal team indicated that he will accept a non-negotiable plea offer in his trial.
The procedures began in November 2023, following the rapper’s arrest in May 2022 on racketeering and conspiracy charges.
Furthermore, on October 31, Thug pleaded guilty to six charges of gang-related behavior and no contest to one count of running a violent street gang and one count of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act.
Additionally, it was revealed that the prosecution wanted Thug to be sentenced to 25 years in prison and 20 years probation.
According to Complex, Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker ultimately sentenced Young Thug to 40 years to serve the first five in prison, which was commuted to time already served. Additionally, Judge Whitaker ordered Thug to serve 15 years of probation which will be “backloaded” with 20 years served in custody if he is unsuccessful.
