Billboard has issued an apology to Taylor Swift for including a controversial clip in a video highlighting her accomplishments.
The publication had recently ranked the singer as the second greatest pop star of the 21st century, but faced backlash for including footage from Kanye West’s 2016 music video Famous in the celebratory video.
The clip in question featured a naked wax figure of Taylor Swift in bed alongside other notable figures.
In addition to the waxwork figure, the song featured the lyric, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b**ch famous.”
In response to the criticism on social media, Billboard apologized to Taylor Swift for their oversight.
“We are deeply sorry to Taylor Swift and all of our readers and viewers that in a video celebrating Swift’s achievements, we included a clip that falsely depicted her,” the publication wrote. “We have removed the clip from our video and sincerely regret the harm we caused with this error.”
Taylor and Kanye have been locked in a long-running feud since the Stronger rapper infamously interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs.
