25 Years After Original Win, Brandy & Monica Land GRAMMY Nomination for Ariana Grande Led ‘Boy is Mine (Remix)’

Brandy & Monica Land GRAMMY Nomination

Brandy and Monica may be hailed by music fans as two of modern R&B’s most beloved female vocalists, but that reverence hasn’t always gone beyond the industry itself, specifically the award show circuit.

So far, the divas have only received one GRAMMY, a shared win in 1999 for 1998’s ‘Boy is Mine.’

B-Rocka and Mo unexpectedly reunited in 2024 to tackle the remix of Ariana Grande’s song of the same name.

They received critical acclaim for their contributions to the remake of the ‘Eternal Sunshine’ smash, which appears to have been recognized by the Recording Academy.

Taking to press on Friday (November 8), the Recording Academy announced the trio’s ‘Boy is Mine (Remix)’ is listed in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.

While Brandy’s first nod since 2020 is the recognition, Monica’s wait is even longer: She hasn’t been included in a GRAMMY nominations tally since 2011.

Grande has received three mentions this year alone, as her name is listed in the Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Dance Pop Recording categories.

Tune in to the Grammys when they air live on CBS on February 2, 2025, to see if the trio will take home the coveted award.
