Ariana Grande has revealed that the massive arena tour she’s set to launch next year might be her final one for the foreseeable future, as she prepares to shift focus away from her pop career and toward other creative passions.
Speaking on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, the Grammy-winning singer admitted that the touring lifestyle has consumed much of her life. Reflecting on her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour, she shared:
“I’m very excited to do this small tour. But I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time. I’m going to give it my all, and it’s going to be beautiful, and I’m so grateful. I think that’s why I’m doing it. Because I’m like, one last hurrah. For now.”
The tour—her first in seven years—follows the release of her 2024 chart-topping album Eternal Sunshine. It will see the pop star perform across the U.S. and Canada before heading to London, where she is scheduled for a remarkable 10-night run at the O2 Arena.
Ariana Grande explained that the decision to step back has been years in the making. After spending much of her career immersed in pop music, she now feels drawn back to her early loves: musical theatre and comedy.
“I spent so much time only doing pop music, but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theatre and comedy,” she said.
“I think the thing that will be best for my soul and for my art is chasing things that feel very right in the moment, even if it’s spontaneous and something different.”
The singer has already begun pivoting into acting. Ariana Grande earned major praise for her role as Glinda in the Hollywood adaptation of Wicked, and she is currently filming Fockers In-Law, the latest installment in the Meet the Parentsfranchise, starring alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
With her artistic priorities evolving, Ariana Grande’s next tour truly may be the “one last hurrah” she describes—at least for now.
