Ariana Grande has revealed that she plans to devote more of her energy to acting, marking a significant shift in her celebrated dual career.
The 32-year-old superstar—who has achieved global acclaim both as a chart-topping singer and as an actress—confirmed during an appearance on the Today show that acting is currently where her creative passion lies.
“I really am enjoying acting right now,” she said. “Whether it’s movies or being on stage or a little something here and there, I think that’s currently what I’m most inspired by. I’ll still sing, I promise. But yes, right now, that’s where I’m at.”
Ariana Grande’s recent performances in the Wicked films have earned widespread praise, and she hinted that she’s open to returning to the stage when the right opportunity comes along. “It would be a dream to find the right thing to come back to, to be on stage. We’ll see. I’m grateful to be along for the ride.”
Looking ahead, the pop icon is set to star alongside Ben Stiller in Focker In-Law, the fourth installment of the Meet the Parents franchise. She described the experience of working with Stiller and the star-studded cast as “a dream come true.”
“I have grown up adoring Ben,” she said. “Every single person in the cast I’ve grown up worshiping, so to be able to work with them and share a creative space with them was a dream come true.”
Ariana Grande has also formed a deep bond with her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, who previously spoke about the instant connection they developed while preparing for their roles.
“We sat on my floor and chatted for hours,” Cynthia shared. “In that moment, we both realised we had something—an immediate sort of connection.”
Ariana echoed the sentiment, describing their relationship as a meaningful and evolving friendship. “From the moment we met, we made an honest commitment to take care of each other and make space for all the feelings that come with the process. It just grew deeper and deeper. I’m so grateful.”
