English referee David Coote has been suspended by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) over unethical behaviour.
The PGMOL in a statement on Monday afternoon said Coote is suspended until further notice.
In the statement, PGMOL said: “David Coote has been suspended with immediate effect pending a full investigation.
“PGMOL will be making no further comment until that process is complete.”
The decision is sequel a leaked video, in which Coote made derogatory remarks about Liverpool.
He described the Merseyside club as sh*t and insulted the club’s former manager, Jurgen Klopp.
Coote was the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for Liverpool’s controversial 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Anfield in December 2023.
During the Premier League clash, Martin Odegaard, appeared to have tripped and handled the ball inside the 18-yard box.
