Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation Magazine, has denied rumors that Globacom chairman and founder Mike Adenuga had died.
In a social media message on Tuesday night, Momodu stated that the 71-year-old is alive and well and urged Nigerians to dismiss the false news.
He added that he spoke with Adenuga on the phone and confirmed that the billionaire was at his desk.
“Ignore the fake news… The Spirit of Africa DR MICHAEL ADENIYI AGBOLADE ISOLA ADENUGA is hale and hearty. He’s right now at his desk working round the clock in support of the Nigerian economy… He just called me to thank everyone for their concern,” he wrote.
Adenuga was last seen in public on Saturday, October 26 for the wedding of his daughter Sade.
Fondly called ‘The Bull’, the businessman, worth over $6 billion, is not one to pose before cameras regularly.
His daughter Sade married Adebola Ogunsanya, son of the late Ademefun Ogunsanya and Mrs Idera Ogunsanya of Ikorodu kingdom.
Former governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba, and his wife, Aderinsola Osoba, chaired the occasion.
Among the dignitaries were Femi Gbajabiamila, chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu; governors Ademola Adeleke and Dapo Abiodun; senators Ibikunle Amosun and Tokunbo Abiru; Lt Gen. Alani Akinrinade, Maj. Gen. Ike Nwachukwu (retd), Tunde Folawiyo, Jimi Benson and Ayo Subair.
Others present were Adesola Adeduntan, the former CEO of FirstBank; Nana Otedola; Bode Emmanuel; Iranola Ayodeji; and Layi Amoje.
