Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is facing new accusations of trying to manipulate a potential jury as he reapplied for bail on November 8.
Prosecutors have alleged that the 55-year-old has been trying to evade law enforcement surveillance and tamper with witness testimony while being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
According to court documents obtained by People, Diddy has been using other inmates’ phone privileges, an unauthorized messaging service, and even his children to create a social media campaign for his recent birthday.
“The defendant enlisted family members to plan and execute a social media campaign around the defendant’s birthday, with the intention of influencing the potential jury in this criminal proceeding,” the document claimed.
“At the defendant’s carefully curated direction, the defendant’s children posted a video to their respective social media accounts showing the defendant’s children gathered to celebrate the defendant’s birthday.”
The document alleges that Combs “monitored the analytics” of the social media footage and “explicitly discussed with his family how to ensure that the video had his desired effect on potential jury members in this case.”
Diddy is awaiting trial after being charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
