Christian “King” Combs came under fire for taking over his father Diddy’s Instagram account to convey “positivity” amid Diddy’s continuous legal difficulties.
The 55-year-old musician was arrested in September on allegations of racketeering, conspiracy, sex trafficking, and other offenses. He is presently being imprisoned at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Christian, 27, son of Diddy and the late Kim Porter, addressed the 19.8 million Instagram followers, saying, “Right now I’m taking over my pop’s Instagram. We’re going to be posting videos, spreading good energy, taking y’all down memory lane, all the positive things he did. So stay tuned and watch this. We love you pops, happy birthday.”
However, many followers reacted harshly in the comments, expressing their disapproval amid Diddy’s charges and just hours after Donald Trump’s election win over Kamala Harris.
One user wrote, “We don’t trust you either, Lil Diddy,” while another said, “Your timing is absolutely terrible.”
Others commented that while it’s understandable for Christian to support his father, they felt it was wrong to “push a narrative” that ignores the serious accusations.
Comments included, “Your pops done bro, he ain’t seeing the light of the day anytime soon,” and “Honey, we don’t wanna hear this today.”
