Ghanaian attacker Inaki Williams has pulled out of the national team’s forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers owing to a tendon ailment.
Williams’ La Liga team, Athletic Club, informed the Ghana Football Association of his injury incurred during training last week.
Williams, who missed Athletic Club’s recent stalemate against Real Valladolid, will remain in Bilbao to recover.
Following a medical update from his club, the Black Stars have decided to allow him to forego the journey to Accra for additional testing.
Ghana faces critical AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger, needing back-to-back wins to stay in contention for a place in the 2025 tournament in Morocco.
With recent withdrawals from the squad, head coach Otto Addo will face added challenges in leading the team through these must-win matches.
