Busta Rhymes is about to add a significant new honor to his mantle. The Hip-Hop pioneer has been named the recipient of the Global Icon Award at the next MTV Europe Music Awards 2024.
Organizers of the November 10 spectacle, broadcast live from Manchester’s Co-Op Live, have confirmed that the star will accept the trophy and shake the EMAs stage with a memorable performance.
The award will recognize the enduring impact the ‘Touch It’ hitmaker has had on music and culture.
12x GRAMMY nominee Busta said in a statement:
“I am beyond honored and grateful to receive the MTV EMA Global Icon Award. This recognition is not only a celebration of my career but also of Hip Hop culture. To be acknowledged on this global stage is a reminder that Hip Hop has no boundaries – and neither do I! ‘Cause THE BLESSINGS DON’T STOP!”
Hosted by Rita Ora, the 2024 MTV EMAs will broadcast on Sunday, 10 November, at 9pm GMT on MTV UK and Pluto TV, 10pm on Channel 5, and will be available on demand on Paramount+ from 12 November.
