American hip-hop icon Trevor Smith Jr, popularly known as Busta Rhymes, has sparked conversation after suggesting he may relocate to Nigeria and marry a Nigerian woman.
The 53-year-old rapper made the revelation during his performance at the Detty December Fest in Lagos over the weekend, where he shared personal plans with the crowd midway into his set. According to him, Nigeria is a place he sees himself settling down after stepping away from music.
Busta Rhymes described the trip as a meaningful one, noting that it took him years to finally make the journey.
“I’m looking for a home here, I’m looking for property. I’m thinking about looking for a wife so that when I stop working, I can settle down here,” he added.
He also referred to the visit as “special,” emphasizing that it took him 15 years to eventually make it to Nigeria.
The veteran rapper has never been married, but he is a father of six children with four different women. His comments have since stirred reactions online, with fans intrigued by the possibility of the hip-hop star making Nigeria his future home.
