Don’t act like parrots, open your heart and pray – Pope Francis tells Christians

Pope Francis' trip to Lebanon has been postponed due to 'health concerns,' just days after he was first seen in a wheelchair

Catholic Pope Francis advised Christians to earnestly pray from their hearts rather than just going through the motions during his general audience.

Pope Francis cautioned against praying mechanically like parrots and instead emphasized the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to lead one’s conversations with God.

“Don’t pray like parrots, please! Don’t say ‘blah, blah, blah’. Say, ‘Lord’, but say it without your heart; ‘help me, Lord.’ ‘I love you, Lord’.
