Real Madrid are stepping up their pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Spanish club is apparently planning to make him their top transfer target in 2025.
The Liverpool right-back’s contract expires at the end of the season, allowing Madrid to begin negotiations in January under UEFA transfer rules.
While Liverpool has offered the 26-year-old a contract deal, Real Madrid believes they can entice Alexander-Arnold away from Anfield.
According to Diario AS, Madrid has alternatives, including Spain international Pedro Porro, but Alexander-Arnold remains their first pick.
With Liverpool currently leading the Premier League, the Reds have the remainder of 2024 to try to secure Alexander-Arnold’s commitment.
However, there has been no definitive indication of the player’s intentions, leaving Madrid hopeful of a breakthrough when January negotiations open.
