French football symbol Thierry Henry has chosen Barcelona as his top bet to win the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League championship.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona attacker lauded the Catalan team’s recent play, suggesting that previous disappointments might boost their title bid.
Barcelona, now led by ex-Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick, has displayed great form after a disappointing start against AS Monaco in the tournament.
Since then, they have easily defeated Young Boys (5-0), Bayern Munich (4-1) and Crvena Zvezda (5-2).
Speaking to CBS Sports, Henry stated, “I think this team right now has to be considered as one of the favourites to win it.
“Are they going to win it? Sometimes, you need to lose a semi-final or quarter-final to understand the difficulty of the journey. But I do believe they are equipped to go all the way.”
Meanwhile, Henry lifted his only Champions League trophy with Barcelona in the 2008/09 season.
