Napoli has discounted the possibility of Galatasaray signing Victor Osimhen permanently.
The club cites the Turkish club’s failure to meet the €75 million buyout clause.
The decision was confirmed by Napoli’s sports director, Giovanni Manna, who stated that while other clubs are interested in Osimhen and willing to pay the clause, Galatasaray currently lacks the necessary funds.
“Our door is closed to negotiations. Galatasaray does not have the funds to pay this amount at this time,” Manna said, as reported by Webaslan.
Osimhen, 25, joined the Turkish Super Lig champions on a season-long loan in September and has since excelled under manager Okan Buruk.
The Nigerian forward has made an immediate impact, tallying eight goals and four assists in just nine appearances across all competitions.
Galatasaray’s interest in extending Osimhen’s stay, however, appears to have reached an impasse, given the high buyout fee.
Napoli are more committed to transferring him to a club that can meet their financial expectations.
