Barcelona has reportedly targeted Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski.
Despite a solid start to the season (17 goals), Lewandowski is now 36 and needs a long-term replacement.
Gyokeres, 26, has piqued Barcelona’s interest with a remarkable 20 goals in only 16 games this season, making him a valuable target for the Catalan club.
Sporting CP is reportedly asking for €60-70 million for Gyokeres. Still, according to A Bola via Sport, Barcelona is looking to cut the sum by including Vitor Roque in a potential player-plus-cash trade.
Roque, currently on loan at Real Betis, turned down a move to Sporting in the summer, preferring to stay in Spain.
However, the 19-year-old’s return to Barcelona next summer could renew interest in a switch to Portugal.
