Funke Akindele Sounds Alarm on Piracy Ahead of Everybody Loves Jenifa Release

Nollywood actress and award-winning filmmaker Funke Akindele has issued a stern warning against piracy as she prepares to release her highly anticipated movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, in cinemas on December 13th.

Taking to social media, the actress passionately urged Nigerians to stand against piracy, which she described as a significant threat to the film industry.

In a heartfelt post, Funke condemned the illegal act of recording videos in cinemas, calling it piracy and imploring fans to stop the harmful practice. She wrote:

“SAY NO TO PIRACY!!! Recording short videos at the cinemas is piracy!!! Please stop it!!! Piracy is killing us!! I worked so hard on this project. Please, I’m pleading, do not be caught promoting piracy!!!”

Funke emphasized the immense effort, resources, and dedication that went into making Everybody Loves Jenifa and expressed frustration over how piracy undermines filmmakers’ hard work.
