Swedish rapper Gaboro, also known as Ninos Khouri, was tragically killed in Norrköping, south-west of Stockholm.
The hip hop artist’s death has sparked an outpouring of tributes on social media from local musicians.
Swedish DJ Alan Max posted a photo of himself with the singer, captioned, “Have no words,” while fellow rapper Imenella wrote: “Rest in peace.”
Reports indicate Gaboro was shot in a multi-storey car park and was found injured before later being pronounced dead in the hospital. A disturbing video of the shooting, believed to be filmed by the shooter, has circulated online.
The Swedish police are investigating the incident, including the video footage. Gaboro, who often concealed his identity with a ski mask and sunglasses, gained popularity with his single “Harki,” which has been streamed over 11 million times on Spotify.
Sadly, Gaboro’s death is another tragic example of a rapper being fatally shot in Sweden.
In June, C.Gambino – not to be confused with US rapper Childish Gambino – was also killed in a shooting. He had been named Sweden’s hip hop artist of the year the month before.
Another award-winning Swedish rapper, Einar, was shot and killed in Stockholm in a gang conflict in October 2021.
