The Friedkin Group, led by American businessman Dan Friedkin, has officially overtaken Everton Football Club. It acquired a 94.1% majority stake from previous owner Farhad Moshiri.
This acquisition, valued at over £400 million, ends Moshiri’s eight-year tenure and marks the beginning of a new era for the club.
The Friedkin Group has committed to providing immediate financial stability to Everton, addressing the club’s ongoing financial challenges.
Dan Friedkin, who also owns Serie A club AS Roma, is expected to bring his experience in football management to Everton.
The new ownership aims to restore Everton to its “rightful place in the Premier League table” and is expected to make further appointments to the board in the coming weeks.
Representatives from The Friedkin Group are anticipated to attend Everton’s upcoming match against Chelsea, signaling their active involvement in the club’s affairs.
