Tyla Honored as GQ South Africa’s “Entertainer of the Year”

Tyla has been crowned GQ South Africa’s Entertainer of the Year, marking her meteoric journey to global fame. At only 22 years old, the South African singer’s path has been remarkable, with her hard work and desire for achievement propelling her to international stardom.

GQ South Africa recognized Tyla’s astounding achievements, particularly the global popularity of her 2023 hit single “Water,” which topped charts in many nations. The track was a watershed moment in her career, gaining her multiple prizes and paving the way for her debut album, TYLA.

In 2024, Tyla continued to make history, becoming the first African artist to win three awards in a single night at the MTV European Music Awards.

She also became the youngest African solo artist to win a Grammy Award. Her accolades include four South African Music Awards (SAMAs), the Metro FM Global Icon Award, and two BET Awards.
