President Joe Biden issued a warning on Wednesday that the soul of America is still in jeopardy as he readies to deliver his farewell address to the nation before the return of incoming president Donald Trump.
Joe Biden is set to make a prime time speech from the Oval Office of the White House, highlighting the achievements of his single term in office.
“I entered the presidential race because I believed that the essence of America was on the line. Our very identity was at stake. And that remains true today,” said the 82-year-old Democrat.
He noted that the country has grown stronger since four years ago, facing challenges such as Trump’s tumultuous first term, the Covid pandemic, and what he called the most severe threat to democracy since the Civil War.
Biden’s inauguration came just days after the violent January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol by Trump supporters attempting to overturn his election defeat.
