Charli XCX has called on luxury brands to donate clothing to victims of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, which have caused widespread destruction and displacement.
The fires, which began on Tuesday, have ravaged thousands of homes and resulted in billions of dollars in damages. In response to the crisis, Charli XCX took to social media on Saturday to urge fashion brands to redirect their gifts to those in need in California.
In an Instagram Stories post, Charli XCX wrote, “As a person in the public eye I am often being sent clothes and other things by brands wanting to gift me something.

“This is very kind and sweet but I want to encourage brands to give to people who really truly need it. Any brands reading this please donate to those who have been tragically affected by these horrific LA fires.”
For nearly a week, firefighters have been working tirelessly to contain the flames as they spread from the Pacific Palisades to the Altadena area of Los Angeles County. As a result, more than 180,000 people have been evacuated, with at least 16 fatalities and over 12,000 homes destroyed or damaged.
Despite the challenges posed by high winds, the fires continue to rage on, underscoring the urgent need for support and resources for those affected by this tragedy.
