Diddy files $50 million defamation suit against witness

Diddy

Diddy has emerged as a focal point for legal action. The esteemed founder of Bad Boy Records has been subjected to numerous lawsuits, prompting his legal team to establish a standardized response for each case. Many individuals allege that the mogul has committed egregious acts of assault.

Conversely, Diddy is pursuing legal action on alternative grounds. He has initiated a lawsuit against grand jury witness Courtney Burgess and his attorney, Ariel Mitchell. The mogul is alleging defamation and the dissemination of false information regarding his personal affairs. He is seeking damages amounting to $50 million.

Diddy’s legal complaint accuses Burgess and Mitchell of making “absurd allegations” against him. Specifically, Burgess has claimed that Diddy possesses videotapes of his purported “freak off” gatherings, where celebrities are said to have engaged in reprehensible acts involving minors.

The contentious mogul asserts that he has consistently refuted these allegations, yet Burgess persists in voicing them. Burgess has become a prominent figure in the proceedings against Diddy.

The grand jury witness contends that he has presented evidence of Diddy’s behavior to the FBI and has even acquired a copy of Kim Porter’s memoir. The late Porter was the mother of Diddy’s children.

Courtney Burgess informed the media of his intention to publish Porter’s memoir. Porter’s children have expressed that they are unfamiliar with the grand jury witness and deny having ever encountered him in Porter’s presence. The children have even dispatched a cease-and-desist letter to Burgess to inhibit him from releasing the purported memoir.

Nevertheless, Burgess has not relented in his plans. Ariel Mitchell, named in the lawsuit alongside her client, issued a public statement. She dismissed the mogul’s defamation allegations and affirmed that her client is justified in his actions.

“This is just a pathetic ploy to silence victims and people who stand up for victims,” Mitchell told TMZ. “Diddy has time to sue but refuses to accept service for the lawsuits already filed against him.” Mitchell went on to claim that she’s looking forward to “countersuing and ensuring the court punishes not only Diddy but also his lawyers who filed this pathetic lawsuit.” The lawyer concluded her scathing statement by dubbing the lawsuit to be a “meritless filing.”
