International passport: Immigration Service to enable self-verification of NIN on portal

The Federal Government has revealed plans to shift all visa applications to an entirely online system by March 1.

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this announcement during a live session on ‘X Spaces’ with influencer Dr. Segun Awosanya, emphasizing efforts to simplify and consolidate Nigeria’s procedures.

Tunji-Ojo introduced a centralized visa approval center designed to promote consistency, combat corruption, and strengthen national security.

“This initiative is a game-changer,” he remarked, emphasizing its role in eliminating loopholes that foster fraud and inefficiency.

Furthermore, the minister revealed the establishment of an 8.3-petabyte data center at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex, positioning Nigeria among global leaders in data security and innovation.
