Nasboi Advises Nigerians to Stop Using Celebrity Marriages as a Benchmark for Marriage

Popular singer and skit maker Nasboi has shared his thoughts on the increasing tendency of people to use celebrity relationships as a standard for marriage.

This comes after the surprising divorce announcement of veteran musician 2Face Idibia and actress Annie Idibia.

Nasboi expressed concern over how quickly some Nigerians generalize marriage as problematic when a high-profile union fails. He reminded them that many have examples of successful and enduring marriages much closer to home.Nigerian musician 2Face Idibia, also known as 2Baba, has announced on Instagram that he and his wife, Annie Macaulay, are going through a divorce. The news has generated a lot of attention online. In his post, 2face revealed that he and Annie have been living separately for some time and have initiated divorce proceedings. The singer mentioned that he plans to issue a press statement soon to clarify the reasons behind their split and share his perspective. He also expressed his desire for his fans and well-wishers to understand his innocence and that he did not commit any wrongdoing.  “Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long. I and Annie Macauley have been separated for a while now and have recently filed for divorce. I would grant a press release soon to say my story”, part of his post read.

His Message

In his statement, Nasboi cautioned:

He urged people to avoid letting celebrity relationships define their views on marriage, emphasizing that every union is unique:
