After engaging #Tygers, the fan base of rising South African diva Tyla, with reports of a collaboration, Normani (born Normani Hamilton) got members of Janet Jackson’s stan group (the #JanFam) chattering after saying she wouldn’t mind completing a full album with the pop monarch.
“I feel like our tones would complement each other’s very well,” she told ‘Galore’ after being quizzed who is at the top of her duet wishlist. “I would love to do something sexy with Janet. Honestly, we could do a whole album! She’s so multifaceted I can’t even tell you specifically what that one song would be, because I feel like between the two of us, we could do so much.”
Hamilton has long praised Jackson as one of her idols. In 2018, she made headlines when she performed her 1986 hit, Pleasure Principle, at the BMI Awards as a tribute to the megastar.
