Nigerian rapper Olamide has reached a milestone of over 1 billion career streams on Spotify, making him the first African rapper to achieve this feat.
His success is credited to his infusion of Afrobeats in his music and collaborations with other artists.

In addition to this achievement, Olamide made history last year as the first African rapper to receive a Grammy nomination.
His collaboration with Asake on the track ‘Amapiano’ was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category, although it ultimately lost to Tyla’s ‘Water’.
