Actress Bukky Wright has revealed the reasons behind her break from acting after moving to the United States, explaining how her career took a new turn while living abroad.
During an interview with The Punch, Bukky shared that she entered the tech industry, a choice that some questioned but she successfully pursued.
She said:
“I will be practising it [tech] simultaneously with entertainment. The fact that I had to deviate totally from entertainment to tech was something many people thought I would not be able to do. I would tell all my mentees that if I can do it, they can do it too.”
Reflecting on her time away, the actress revealed what she missed most about Nigeria. Her words:
“What I would love to eat again would be proper Naija amala. What I would like to do again would be to act with Nollywood actors.”
Addressing her much-anticipated return to Nollywood, Bukky Wright assured fans of exciting projects in the pipeline. She teased:
“I have a lot for fans, including my project—‘The Return of Omotara Johnson,’ which is coming, and a whole lot of other things. I am back to stay.”
When asked about her ageless looks, she attributed it to prioritising rest, saying, “I don’t joke with my beauty sleep.”
Bukky Wright is set to star in the upcoming movie Something About The Briggs, alongside a talented cast including Daniel Etim Effiong, Ariyike Dimples, Norbert Young, Gloria Young, Rita Dominic, Iyabo Ojo, Stan Nze, Kenneth Okolie, Kalu Ikeagwu, Linda Ejiofor, Kanaga Jnr, Elma Mbadiwe, Simi Drey, Tubosun Aiyedehin, Zack Orji, and Liz Benson-Ameye. The film is scheduled for release on January 31.
