Former Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, reiterated his claim to the position of speaker based on constitutional provisions during a gathering of supporters from Agege, Alimosho, and Kosofe local government areas in Ikeja GRA on Saturday.
Obasa, who was recently ousted from his position due to allegations of misconduct and financial impropriety, argued that the process did not adhere to the constitution. He stated that he would accept his removal if it followed constitutional procedures.
Today, supporters of the impeached speaker agathered at the speakers’ lodge in Ikeja GRA to show their support for him despite his impeachment.
The loyalists of the ex-speaker wore vests and caps with his photo emblazoned on them, while others held aloft placards, with one reading ‘Obasa the undisputable’.
The former speaker made a grand entry, smiling and waving at the supporters.
