The Lagos State High Court in Ikeja has ruled that Mudashiru Obasa’s removal as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly was illegal and unconstitutional.
Justice Yetunde Pinheiro declared the House’s actions in January leading to his ouster null and void.
Obasa had challenged the legality of his removal, arguing that it was done while the Assembly was on recess and without proper authority.
Represented by Chief Afolabi Fashanu, he maintained that the session was invalid and violated the House’s procedures.
The judgment referenced the 1999 Constitution and the Standing Orders of the Lagos State House.
