Lagos Assembly Members Deny Holding Reconciliation Meeting with Reinstated Speaker Obasa

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s capacity to overhaul Nigeria’s security architecture amid persistent nationwide insecurity.

Speaking at the APC Stakeholders and Progressives Governors Forum meeting held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Obasa said the president’s ongoing reforms clearly show his commitment to strengthening the country’s security institutions and protecting citizens.

He praised Tinubu’s “genuine commitment and innovation” in addressing the nation’s multifaceted security challenges, stressing that the APC-led federal government remains focused on safeguarding lives and property.

“We have seen President Tinubu in action. He is working tirelessly to address our challenges, especially security. I have no doubt that he will deliver,” Obasa said.

The Speaker urged Nigerians to rally behind the president, insisting that collective support is essential for progress.

“He is still the man for the job, and that is why we must give him all the backing necessary now and ahead of 2027,” he added.

Obasa also commended APC governors for aligning with the president’s security priorities and encouraged them to further mobilise residents at the grassroots to participate in efforts to combat insecurity.

He emphasized that effective security requires cooperation at all levels:

“Security is not just the responsibility of governors. It concerns everyone. We must all take part. Supporting the president is critical if we want to redirect Nigeria’s security trajectory.”
