Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has sensationally revealed that his relationship with manager Arne Slot has broken down, sparking fresh uncertainty around his future at Anfield.
Speaking after the Reds’ 3–3 draw against Leeds United, the Egyptian forward expressed frustration over being benched for the third consecutive match and accused someone within the club of wanting him out.
Salah, who was not brought on at any point during the match, said he felt abandoned despite his contributions over the years.
“I have done so much for this club down the years and especially last season.
Now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why,” he told reporters.
He added that he feels he is being unfairly targeted:
“It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame.”
Salah also claimed promises made to him during the summer have not been honoured.
“I got a lot of promises in the summer and so far I am on the bench for three games, so I can’t say they kept the promise.”
The 32-year-old went on to say that his previously strong relationship with Slot appears to have abruptly deteriorated.
“I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden, we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why, but it seems to me that someone doesn’t want me in the club.”
Salah’s comments are expected to intensify speculation about his future at Liverpool as tensions behind the scenes continue to unfold.
