Former Big Brother Mzansi housemate Ash-Ley Ogle has received overwhelming support from her fans after launching a GoFundMe campaign to rebuild her life following her unexpected eviction from the reality show.
According to The South African, Ash-Ley, 26, was not eliminated through the usual fan voting system but rather by a housemate vote, cutting her journey short. Her GoFundMe statement explained how the eviction impacted her and why supporters wanted to help.
Massive Donations Pour In
Since its launch, the campaign has raised over R150,000, with the largest single donation—a whopping R11,000—coming from an anonymous contributor. So far, 282 people have contributed, but the campaign is still far from its R900,000 target.
How Ash-Ley Left the Show
Her elimination shocked many fans, as she tied with Nsuku at four votes each. The final decision fell to Head of House Swiss, who ultimately sent Ash-Ley home. Reflecting on her journey, she told IOL, “It was full of surprises. I didn’t even think my audition video was good enough.”
What’s Next for Ash-Ley?
Despite the setback, Ash-Ley is looking ahead to a future in acting, scriptwriting, and fashion. Fans will see her publicly for the first time since her eviction when she appears at The Love Tour at The Playhouse, Durban, on March 1.
