Serie A: Gasperini takes another swipe at Lookman

Gasperini

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini is standing firm in his disagreement with Ademola Lookman.

The two had a heated argument last week following Atalanta’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League, with Gasperini criticizing Lookman for missing a penalty.

Lookman responded by calling Gasperini’s comments disrespectful, leading to further tension between the two.

Gasperini continued to take jabs at Lookman after Atalanta’s victory over Empoli, emphasizing that their relationship is a two-way street, despite the contributions Lookman has made to the team.

“Lookman has always scored a lot of goals, at least since he joined Atalanta.

“He has become an extraordinary player, especially when he puts himself at the disposal of the team,” he told a press conference.

“He said that he feels a bond with the fans and I appreciate that very much.”
