Wunmi Aloba, the widow of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has expressed her profound sorrow over his passing and addressed certain misunderstandings, including the accusation of addiction.
In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Wunmi talked about her late husband’s life and struggles, feeling that God was unfair by taking him too soon.
“He was a responsible husband to me and a responsible son to his parents. He was not a drug addict, and he was my best friend,” she stated.
Wunmi revealed that Mohbad had big dreams for their son, Liam, including plans to take him out of Nigeria for a better future. She shared how her mother-in-law has encouraged her to ensure Liam grows up knowing about his father.
“Liam recognizes him in pictures, but my mother-in-law has said I should always let him know his dad has passed. Adura has been playing a good fatherly role for Liam,” she said.
Speaking on her grief, she admitted to still being traumatized by her husband’s death but acknowledged that death is inevitable.
“I am still traumatized about my husband’s death, but I know everyone will die one day. I feel God cheated my husband by allowing him to die,” she lamented.
Mohbad, also known as Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away controversially on September 12, 2023, at just 27 years old, sparking national outrage and ongoing investigations.
Wunmi continues to seek justice for her husband while raising their son in his memory.
